“All of us have in our veins the exact same percentage of salt in our blood that exists in the ocean, and, therefore, we have salt in our blood, in our sweat, in our tears. We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea — whether it is to sail or to watch it — we are going back from whence we came.”

– President John F. Kennedy

Hi! I’m so happy you’re here!

After a few years of challenging times, I’ve learned that what a lot of people say is true…difficult times make for great stories. It’s also true that when you navigate tough times pretty well, you find that in itself is uplifting.

So, I’m thrilled to be back at my writing desk.

I’ve been a writer since 2004, first blogging and then learning the art of writing fiction.  I’m working on completing the novels and short stories I began several years ago.

My books feature strong, smart women who encounter their share of difficulties as well as happy moments. They are are part of families which means there are heavy doses of love, betrayal, joy, sadness, and  all the emotions in between. They are like us. They have a past that will influence their future.  The rhythm of their lives mimics the ebb and flow of the sea’s tide. As you might have guessed by now, the setting puts my characters in a quaint town near the sea or a lake.

I’m having a ball sharing my Flash Fiction, aka Bite-Sized Stories, with you. Short fiction can be more difficult than writing a novel since the writer is only allowed 300-1500 words. For me, it’s a welcome and fun challenge to write a complete story for you in so few words.

I hope you visit often to read these stories. They’re perfect for those times when you have only a few precious minutes to be entertained.

You, the smart and strong women over 55 years old, are the focus of my blog. I’ll be talking about everything under the sun that affects us including exercise, health, diet, the prospects for retirement, travel, living alone, dating, and so much more. I hope you’ll weigh in with your own experiences.
