A couple of weeks ago, we talked about sprucing up my wardrobe and playing with color. I gave you a list of colors and what qualities in you they represent.
Let’s take that a step further…out of the closet and into the bedroom!
I found this cool infographic showing which colors make for a sexy bedroom, or at least one where sex takes place most often.
It seems that UK retailer, Littlewoods.com took a survey that determined which colors inspired more SEXCAPADES.
How many of you are racing to the paint store right now? I know I need to!
Have you ever read about the psychology of color? Various hues can positively or negatively affect your mood and behavior.
Be a Sexy, Smart and Strong Woman with a few little known facts about your color choices for your rooms:
Yellow: Increases your metabolism and gives you energy. It may also cause you eye strain and it can make babies cry. (Perfect for the kitchen or a child’s play room.)
Blue: Induces calmness, serenity. Curbs your appetite. Makes you more productive. (This would be a great color for your home office.)
Green: A symbol of fertility. Was the preferred color of 15th century wedding gowns. (Which room in your house is painted green?)
Red: Encourages strong emotion and increases appetite. Associated with the danger of failure in achievement.(Stay away from red rooms when taking a test!)
Lavender: Not only associated with wealth and success but, calms the nerves and allows for relaxation. (In which room would like to feel calm and successful?)
Now that I have you all in a happy, colorful mood, I have an announcement!
I got bit by the HIATUS bug. Yup, I think Gene Lempp passed it to me.
Gene gives me good things, too, like encouragement to read craft books that will make an impact. Three books he recommended to me are–On Writing by Stephen King, Turning Pro by Steven Pressfield and Writing Love by Alexandra Sokolov. I highly advise you to read them also, if you haven’t already.
So, hiatus means I’ll be taking the next 6 weeks off (sort of) to finally get my book, The Sins of Eve, finished, beta-read and fitted with a marketing plan.
I’m not leaving you without fun stuff to read though.
My blogs will post as usual on Wednesdays.
The RedHots will be reviewing a new film on September 28th
Check the Hot Passions on the home page for updates on my WIP, Hot Titles, Hot Licks and Hot Chocolates
The hiatus will involve all other distractions like wasting time playing computer games, wasting time listening to financial analysts about the recession and spending way too much unproductive time on social media.
During this 6-week period, I’ll take ONE day (October 6th) to catch up on blog reading and commenting, tweeting and Facebooking, Pinterest perusal, and Goodreads updates.
My blog commenters won’t be neglected. I’ll respond each week.
I’ll return on Halloween with a completed book and a more professional manner of handling my writing business. I’ll be ready to begin the publishing process and continue the marketing.
To stay with today’s color theme, I’ll paint myself Blue (Productive) and Orange (Enthusiastic).
At the end of the 6 weeks I’ll be Purple (Successful) which will make me Yellow (Cheerful). You may also see a tinge of lingering Green (Sex) *wink*.
Enjoy your Autumn and know I’ll be working hard and missing you!

I’m sorry I haven’t visited in a while, the wedding and barn party the day afterward, plus working on my book has really got me hopping. Now I see you’re taking a hiatus. Good for you. You have been working your tail off and I know you’ll be working on what matters most to you during this time.
Love the color chart. I know it’s not the same thing as painting your walls purple but I have a gorgeous purple tablecloth that I put on the table in my red kitchen when I entertain and people always say wow, when I use it. It’s just the perfect shade of each, not a crazy clash. I wonder if they’re going home and having great sex afterwards? LOL Maybe that’s why everyone wants to come to my house for dinner. I thought it was for the good conversation. Geesh.

Hey passionate conversation can lead to passionate sex, right? It must be vibrant and beautiful and make everyone hungry–not just for food!

I’m trying to get away from SM distractions to just write, but it’s not working as well as i’d hoped. I miss all my friends too much. I did lay off reading blogs but, like I said in the post, I’ll catch up in a couple weeks…if the guilt doesn’t get me sooner.
Besides being busy and a good/not good stressful, with you at the helm, i’m sure the wedding and barn party were awesome! No need to apologize. I knew you were crazy busy. Relax now that it’s over.

WOW! I am honored that you took hiatus time to comment on my glob – er – B-L-O-G, Marcia.
Enjoy your hiatus and whip that WIP into shape for submission. I’m in much the same do-it-or-smack-yourself mode with my WIP. I have given myself until November 15th to have the manuscript ready for critique. I will not miss the Golden Heart this year.
I mean, at the ripe young age of twenty-nine…
Look forward to your updates. Oh! My favorite colors? Cobalt blue and eye-popping purple. I think I’ll leave those in my wardrobe rather than my walls, tho’. I get too few visitors these days as it is.

Good! We’re in this together, then! I’ve got til Halloween. I’ll urge you on when I can. Aw, your blog is always worth a stop. I just don’t get around to everyone I enjoy as often as I’d like. I guess I just needed to treat myself today. I thoroughly enjoyed your post.
Thanks for coming by…I’ll try to stop in more often.
Couldn’t you just hang something purple on your bedroom wall for awhile? It might bring the right kind of visitors!
I don’t know if I can handle a purple bedroom, however passionate the color. LOL. Maybe some art with purple in it.
Have a great hiatus!

Maybe a softer shade or even the blue has a good rating. Whatever the color of your room, I hope it rates high for you! Thanks, for the good wishes, Sonia!

No wonder I love lavender color!
Happy writing, Marcia. I think the hiatus is a great idea. I took about 4 weeks off when finishing Forged by Greed, and it was the time best spent.
Angela Orlowski-Peart recently posted..Welcome To My Official Website.
Oh yeah I remember that, Angela! It really helps get your head in the right place to work. Oooh, I love lavender too! Happy bedroom thoughts!
Why is sky blue the number 3 color for sex? What about a baby blue wall says rev up those engines?! I don’t see it.
Since I live with all boys, paint colors falls under the category of “nice things we can’t have.” BUT – Joe and I are in the process of remodeling the upstairs so we can move up there and have that level to ourselves. I did get to pick paint for those rooms. Our bedroom is 3 walls tan, one wall denim blue (our sheets are red
), the bathroom is a bright green, and the smaller bedroom/office/storage room is a lavender gray color.
Enjoy your hiatus! I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in a month’s time! Go Marcia!

That’s great that you and Joe will finally have your own space upstairs! Those colors suit your personalities, I think. they probably appear to Joe’s masculinity and and the camper/adventurer sides of both of you. Casual/hip/a little bit elegant. Perfect! Thanks, Jess! I plan to accomplish about 50,000 words by the end of the 6 weeks. *fingers crossed*

Oh as far as the color goes, it symbolizes serenity and productivity–get it?
So excited about your upcoming book, Marcia. I’ve had my nose to the grind, too. Sometimes we need quiet and no distractions to actually get anything done.
All if the walls in our house are painted the same color. It’s called Flannel and depending on the light, can be purple, pink, or white. It’s very comfortable.

Oooh, that sounds pretty, Sheila! I’ll have to look it up. Maybe I’ll use that one day. Thanks about the book. You’re working on your next one? Good for you! I hope you find your quiet time, too!

Love, love, love it! Your colors are amazing, Marcia. I hope the next few weeks give you the respite you need to refresh your soul. AND I’m super excited your book will be done by then and we can all get it to read. This is a very fun time for you, my friend. Congrats on everything.
Thanks, Sweets! It is fun and frustrating. Trying to get rid of the fear of not being able to rewrite it well. But, i’ll push through it!

LOVE it Marcia. Now I want to repaint the entire house purple. LOL!

I wish you a happy, productive 6 weeks. The last few weeks of finishing up are the toughest–at least they were for me.
Our bedroom isn’t purple, but I love wearing it. Since it’s associated with wealth & success, I think I’ll wear more often!
Diana Douglas recently posted..It’s Thursday! Time to Light Up the Blogosphere! 9/6/12

I always learn something new from you, Marcia. Purple for the bedroom, huh?
Good luck with your hiatus … Gene is right, truly it’s the only way to get things done.
I’m still in the trenches with my revisions but have got a glimpse of the end now. Can’t wait to get on to the next phase!
Catch you later!
